Ninja Riders

September 07, 2012

I'm losing the weight, which is increasing my average speed on flat and slightly uphill sections, but I'm still getting winded going up the bigger hills. As a reminder; call out your passes. I watched what had to be a Vision Quest wrestler on a road bike dressed head to toe in sweats... Black sweats at that, and with what seemed to be an [amazon_link id="B003V7KQYY" target="_blank" ]L.L.Bean backpack[/amazon_link] filled with books or weights. He decided his best chance at passing the 3 women walking down the trail was at the same time a train of 3 riders were coming in the other direction. The surprise on her face and the amount she jumped to the right said that the left most walker was given no notice of the ninja's pass, so please ladies and gentlemen, call your passes out. My wife and I joined a local health club. It's a nice full service one that lets you do month-to-month memberships (DO NOT EVER SIGN UP FOR A NON MTM CONTRACT), with a nice daycare facility for my daughter to play in while we exercise. My wife gets on the bike/treadmill and watches the closed circuit camera in the daycare. I'm still waffling about trying to find a good routine to settle in. Because of weather and work, it has been near impossible to ride every other day, and I haven't come up with a good workout schedule either. I don't want to work my legs too much because I want to be able to use them on the trail/road, but I don't know when the next ride will be. I work out upper body, but without a routine, I'm all over the place. I think I need to do some reading regarding workouts to come up with something.
