PPTC Annual Meeting

February 01, 2013

Rode into Arlington via the newly discovered Bluemont trail for the Potomac Pedalers' Annual Meeting. There were only a couple of people that I had ridden with on the Sunday Lunch rides in attendance. I did notice a big glaring issue with the PPTC (or at least with those in attendance): I am not in their normal age range. I felt like I was among the youngest people in the room. Plus I'm not a Lawyer, or a Government worker, so I feel quite out of place. After the meeting I did stage two of the Tour de Bike Shoppes. I swung by Fresh Bikes Clarendon, drooled a bit over the Cannondales, then rode down to Revolution Cycles, looked at a couple of Ortlieb Panniers(they only had QL2 systems, and I really like the QL3), rode by Big Wheel, got back on the Custis Trail, and stopped by TriBonzai before heading home. Bonzai had some really nice discounts on a 2012 Lightspeed and a 2012 Cervelo, I had a hard time not pulling the trigger, only when I remembered I hadn't met my 25% weight goal did I only walk out of there with a bike chain cleaner and lube. noah
